Welcome to the Grand Canyon Chapter
of the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association (NAVHDA)!
Train - TEST - Hunt - Join thE Adventure!
At the Grand Canyon Chapter of NAVHDA, we are all about helping you train your versatile hunting dog to hunt. Whether its Arizona Quail, Upland Birds or Waterfowl you pursue, your NAVHDA dog will be ready to perform at an exceptional level. Our monthly events provide you with hands on training with your dog. We also hold tests that gauge your dogs performance within the highly respected NAVHDA testing system. A NAVHDA dog learns steadiness in the field and at the waters edge, how to retrieve birds to hand, how to reclaim wounded game - by tracking or searching, and much more.
Whether you are brand new to hunting with pointers or a seasoned veteran, we are here to help you foster an unbreakable bond with your canine hunting partner. Lifetime memories are made when you hunt over a dog that you had the satisfaction of training yourself.
If you enjoy having fun, the outdoors, hunting dogs and good company, the Grand Canyon Chapter of NAVHDA is for you! Come join us in the field!

2025 GCC NAVHDA Test Entry Form
Are you ready to see what your dog is truly capable of? NAVHDA (North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association) tests provide the ultimate challenge, evaluating dogs in field and water work. Unlike competitive trials, NAVHDA tests measure each dog against a set standard—every dog has the opportunity to shine and earn top honors. Dogs that meet or exceed the standards are awarded one of three prestigious rankings: Prize I, II, or III, with Prize I being the highest achievement.
In addition to our handlers and dogs, it takes a team of volunteers to make a successful test weekend. With a full schedule ahead, your help can make all the difference in keeping everything running smoothly. If you would like to be part of the team, please log in and complete the FALL NOVEMBER TEST 2025 Volunteer Form.
